I will survive your stares and glares
Your hateful words, your jokes unfair
I will outlast your prejudice views
Your damnation of me will not come true
A proud gay man, that’s me
Tie me to a fence, shred my clothes
Take my dignity, take my soul
You’ve accomplished nothing in your feat
A proud gay man, that’s me
The stereotypes you project
Your tactics of no regret
Related to that of Klan
Yet in my face, you shake my hand
A proud gay man, that’s me
My goals, my success
The intimidation weighs on your chest
You can’t understand the way I feel
Not now and never will
A proud gay man, that’s me
You hold your signs
You lead your march
You guide your children into the dark
Nothing you do can effect who I’ll be
A proud gay man, that’s me
The things you teach, the words you preach
The way you vote warrants defeat
You think you’re right, and never wrong
You plague my lifestyle like a song
A proud gay man, that’s me
I have no rights like you do
Equality avoids me, the same as you
It’s not fair, though my head I’ll hold high
I will not go down without a fight
A proud gay man, that’s me
Why do you care who I love?
Does it impact your life or lord above?
Just love me as you love yourself
Leave the judging to someone else
A proud gay man, that’s me
Peace, equality, unity and love
They all fit like a glove
That’s what I want, hope and need
A proud gay man, that’s me
